You're Invited To Study God's Word

Sunday Morning Bible Study

At St. Paul, we believe that time in God's Word is the centerpiece of our life in Christ.  Therefore, every Sunday we offer Adult Bible Class.

Our Sunday morning Bible studies all begin at 9:00 a.m.

YOUTH WORLDVIEW DEVELOPMENT (CONFIRMATION)

Young people from 3rd through 5th grade  are invited to attend one hour of study tailored to equip them to remain faithful to Christ's Church unto death. With a focus on the meanings of the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, and the Lord's Prayer, we read through large sections of Scriptures in order to emphasize both biblical knowledge and understanding.

We are Lutheran!

"Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage!" - Psalm 74:2

Our congregation was founded in 1894 by German Lutherans in the small communities of a new mission field called Texas.  The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod saw Texas as a vast mission opportunity and placed Rev. Robert Mehlhorn to be St. Paul Lutheran's first pastor. From 1894, St. Paul has been a blessing to many generations here in the Wichita Falls area.

We give thanks to God for His faithfulness to the generations who have received His Word and Sacraments here. Today we are dedicated to Lutheran doctrine drawn from the Scriptures and to teaching and confessing it in our life together as God's people.

You Belong Here At St. Paul Lutheran Church!

St. Paul Lutheran Church is committed to the preaching and teaching of the inspired and inerrant Holy Scriptures, to the equipping of its members to know what they believe and why they believe it,
and to promoting the spread of Christianity in the midst of our dark and evil age.

Why is St. Paul A Community in which to Belong?

...BECAUSE WE TEACH AND PROMOTE A FAITH WORTH DYING FOR!

Wouldn't it be great......to be part of a community whose chief goal is trust in the Grace of Jesus?...to be in a communion of other believers who refused to compromise the Christian Scriptures?...to have shepherds who prioritize the growth of your Faith, rather than the growth of their pocketbooks?

What if......we resisted paganism, rather than catered to it?...we raised Christians with Truth, rather than tried to trick them with fun?...we weren't afraid of sharing what the Bible actually says?...we remembered that mercy and duty are not mutually exclusive?...we still believed in Judgment Day?

THAT THE CLEAR WORD OF GOD BE HEARD

By More People.
In More Places.
More Often.

St. Paul Lutheran Church equips all its members to know what they believe and why they believe it, so that whether next door or across the world, we countermand our age of anti-truth with a firm trust in the Words and Sacraments of Jesus Christ.

St Paul is a church where we take seriously the needs of our community and try to serve to the best of our abilities.  If this is what you're looking for then this is the community of faith is for you! Come and see!

Welcome to St. Paul

First of all our mission at St. Paul is to recognize that "We are imperfect people risking it all to make Jesus real...one life at a time."

We just want to say how privileged we are to have you visiting our Church website.  We consider visitors to our church a very important gauge of the health and vibrancy of our congregation.  I think that you will find here at St. Paul a family of faith that is caring, loving, and most importantly Christ-centered in its worship life.

We at St. Paul feel that in today’s Post-Modern society, to have a place to come and worship that is firmly grounded in the Truth of God’s Holy Word is a rare find.  We are a strong Bible-based, Bible-believing church, that understands clearly from God’s Word, that we are saved by grace through faith alone in our Lord Jesus Christ and not by works which we do.

Here at St. Paul our worship services are liturgical in nature, meaning that they are structured on the church’s historic liturgy, which is nothing more than spoken, chanted, prayed, and sung Scripture.  With this in mind, the more you love Scripture, the more you love the church’s liturgy—hence the more you will love the worship services at St. Paul.

We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion every Sunday and at every high Church Festival. It is an opportunity for us, as the body of Christ, to confess our unity and our love for each other and which binds us together as a family in Christ.

If you are searching for a new church home or would like to learn more about St. Paul, you always have an open invitation to worship with us, attend Bible study with us, and come to the Adult Information class to learn more about membership here at our church.

Again, it was our privilege to have you visit us on the St. Paul website! We strive to be a church where families come together to worship, praise, serve, and love God and each other.  The Lord be with you and we invite you to come back and visit often!

St. Paul is a Church of the Word!

Studying God's Word has a central place at St. Paul.  We believe that we are saved by grace through faith in our Savior Jesus Christ, and not by our works.  We hear the Word and then we go and bear fruit in our homes, workplaces, and community.

Worship at St. Paul

What To Expect When You Worship at St. Paul Lutheran Church

Worship is about the Church coming into the presence of God the Father to receive His gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation through Christ and in the Spirit.  In response to the Father’s goodness toward us in Christ and prompted by His Spirit, we extol the Father through the Son and in the Spirit.

At St. Paul we use the historic liturgy of the Church which is nothing less than the pure Word of God read, chanted, spoken and sung throughout the service.  Each part of the liturgy is a carefully chosen piece of Scripture that leads us in our reception of the gifts of God. The more you love God's Word...the more you will love the historic liturgy of the Church!

The Liturgy is the Divine Service: The Holy Trinity actually comes serving YOU with His gifts of life and salvation. He acts upon us, in the Liturgy, which:

  • delivers what Christ earned for us by His sinless life, substitutionary death on the cross, and resurrection, namely the forgiveness of sins. (John 15:3)
  • puts the Holy Spirit’s own Words (Holy Scripture) into our ears, creating faith in us.(Romans 10:16, John 6:63)
  • calls each one, as His priest, to offer the sacrifices of praise in the God-pleasing Words of Scripture. (1 Peter 2:9,10; Isaiah 59:21, Hebrews 13:15f)
  • joins us with the ancient, one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church (2 Thessalonians 2:13-15; Jude 3; 1 Corinthians 14:36, 15:1-8; Revelation 7:9)
  • enables us to pray in unison as “one body” joined together by the Holy Spirit. (Luke 11:1-4, Acts 2:42)
  • sends us out into our Father’s world worshipping and proclaiming Christ through loving our Lord and our neighbor. (Numbers 6:22-27; Luke 24:50-53; Romans 12:1)
